By any measure, Ferry Corsten is an electronic dance music titan. Ever since his debut album Out of the Blue under his trance music alias System F in 1999 topped the UK singles charts, he has been defining and redefining electronic dance music around the world. To prove this, Ferry was recently knighted by the Dutch king for his contribution to the country’s music industry, an honour only two other Dutchman DJs have ever received. Over more than 20 years he has remixed everyone from U2 to Duran Duran to Justin Bieber, and has made widescreen and cinematic albums like 2017’s ‘Blueprint’, soundtracks to movie thrillers like ‘Don’t Go’ and has headed up his charity project UNITY while collaborating with fellow legends like Paul Oakenfold, BT, Ilan Bluestone and Sander van Doorn. |
As the longest-serving Dutch DJ in the annual DJ Mag Top 100 poll over the last decade, he is no stranger to the world’s biggest stages from Tomorrowland to EDC Las Vegas and Creamfields. His ‘Resonation Radio’ show is also an influential outlet for new music and constant proof of Ferry’s dedication to pushing electronic music forward. Most recently, his piano house single ‚Timeout‘ with Dustin Husain on Flashover Recordings/Armada has proved the latest in a long line of classic tunes from the great Dutchman. |
His all-encompassing What the F live tour kicked off at London’s Ministry of Sound on May 6th and heads all over North and South America in June and August for phase one, with phase two to follow soon. It is a career-spanning spectacle that finds Ferry playing open to close, from the first to the last record under all his different acclaimed aliases. Every tune will be one of Ferry’s own, with numerous hits taken from his vast back catalogue of over 150 tracks. Some of this music will be remixed, rehashed and reinvented to make for an all-new and thrilling experience from this dance pioneer. |
On top of all the exclusive collectibles are potential rewards from purchasing, collecting and completing sets of packs. Among them are guest list and/or backstage access to all What the F shows, free merchandise, and for NFT fans and music super fans alike, the Grand prize which is a one of a kind (mythical) NFT digital audio tape (DAT) of Ferry Corsten: Out of the Blue, the story behind his classic Out of the Blue, which was originally going to come under Ferry’s own name but instead established System F as one of dance music’s most iconic alias and topped global charts while becoming one of dance music’s biggest hits. |
This first-ever Ferry Corsten drop on RCRDSHP is full of absolute treasure for fans and offers a unique chance to own some real trance history. In unison with the groundbreaking new What The F Tour, it reminds us just why the dance legend is so revered around the world. |
About Ferry Corsten Ferry Corsten has been consistently at the top of his game since his sophomore album under the System F alias ‚Out of The Blue‘ charted in the UK Top 20 singles chart in 1999, with remix credits for acts such as U2, Moby, Faithless, Duran Duran and Public Enemy following soon afterwards. Ferry continues to push the boundaries of electronic music, exemplified by his 2020 ambient album ‚As Above So Below‘ under his FERR By Ferry Corsten alias. From his charity initiative UNITY, which saw Ferry collaborate with Paul Oakenfold, Ilan Bluestone, Gabriel & Dresden, Sander van Doorn’s Purple Haze and Trance Wax, to handling the musical score for the mystery thriller ‚Don’t Go‘ movie, featuring Blade actor Stephen Dorff and Grey’s Anatomy’s Melissa George, Ferry continues to reach out beyond his comfort zone to discover new sounds and projects. With his latest concept, What The F, Ferry allows fans to experience every aspect of his diverse range as a DJ and producer, merging his entire catalogue of work to create a unique show that infuses the past with a future approach. What The F is the absolute and complete Ferry Corsten fan experience. |
About RCRDSHP RCRDSHP (pronounced “record shop”), is a platform for electronic music enthusiasts which markets packs stuffed with digital collectibles from global dance music artists and brands. RCRDSHP collectibles are more than crypto-glorified MP3s or digital trading cards; this is not another NFT auction or fixed-price marketplace. Each limited-edition collectible encapsulates a unique aspect of an artist, label, or festival brand’s musical worlds: a legendary video moment in front of a crowd or backstage or in the studio, a coveted exclusive track that’s never been heard before, or work of inspiring visual art that takes the fan deeper into that artist’s creative universe. These collectibles are dropped in packs, which can be unwrapped, and their content can be bought and sold, listened to, watched, or even combined using game mechanics to unlock cool, new premium collectibles and even in-real-life experiences. It’s part game, part marketplace, part community space, combined to form the foundation for a full dance music metaverse. The platform aims to lead the way in supporting artists (including smaller producers) fairly by creating an entirely new revenue stream for them, unfortunately something streaming platforms and major players still haven’t gotten right. |
